I am a Non-Chinese, but I do believe in feng shui because it has enabled me to sail through life with much ease; it has guided me to overcome certain obstacles that come along my way and more importantly, it has helped me to amass much wealth in my business ventures. With the extra wealth I have obtained, I have decided to purchase a bigger bungalow; situated in a luxuriant and beautiful environment, which I feel may draw in or attract auspicious feng shui throughout the years to come.

The bungalow faces north and among the many features, the hall (or sometimes known as the living room) seems to be the most prominent and outstanding living area of all. However, the main entrance (or front door) leading towards the hall is directly facing a big hill, which resembles a tortoise from afar. The tortoise resembles a very slow-moving creature or animal indeed. I feel that the tortoise is extremely slow in all its movements. From the perspective of feng shui, does it signify that the occupants of the bungalow may be slow in achieving success and prosperity in life – just like the tortoise? Is it advisable for me to purchase this bungalow and utilize it as my permanent residence?

One feng shui tenet strongly believes that the tortoise, though slow in movements, is indeed a symbol of patience, longevity and good luck. During the olden days in medieval China , most Chinese, especially the wealthy ones; often displayed a variety of tortoises in ponds around their premises during auspicious celebrations, especially celebrations which are associated with their birthdays/wedding anniversaries etc. Even in modern times, this tradition of displaying tortoises is still being maintained by certain believers of feng shui in most parts o the world!

Feng shui principles agree that the tortoise or any object that looks like a tortoise; is truly a symbol of good luck or good omen, especially if it lies in the north direction! There is a feng shui belief which reiterates that since your bungalow is facing a tortoise-shaped hill at the north direction; then effects of auspicious feng shui of a much greater force may be attracted to your residence, especially if your horoscope is also auspicious.

However, there are a few factors you may have to bear in mind. You have to make sure that the hall is larger in size as compared to all the other rooms. Be cautious that there are ample sunlight or sun rays penetrating through every part of the bungalow. There should be proper ventilation in all parts or section of your house. Of course, all the other aspects of your home should be, as far as possible; be built according to the precepts of good feng shui. With everything done according to the requirements of auspicious feng shui, the occupants of the bungalow may not be slow in achieving success and prosperity at all.

Yes, you may purchase this bungalow and utilize it as your permanent residence after all.
