My parents, my siblings and I are occupying a semi-detached bungalow in a peaceful housing estate; not far away from town. Despite the fact that the bungalow was situated adjacent to an oxidation pond; we still bought it because we thought that the pond was, after all; quite harmless to all of us, as far as our livelihood was concerned. However, one of my friends, who had attended a short course on feng shui recently, told me that the oxidation pond; could give rise to inauspicious effects of feng shui to the building, located next to it.
What are the comments from both of you; pertaining to the effects of feng shui being drawn to a building; located next (or adjacent) to an oxidation pond?

From the practical point of view, it is not advisable for any residence to be located adjacent to an oxidation pond simply because it (oxidation pond) would at times; emit an obnoxious smell, which would be intolerable for the residents or occupants to bear. Probably; the bad stench could affect the health of all these occupants too.
As far as feng shui principles are concerned; there is a strong belief that the oxidation pond could emit a flow of bad or negative “chi”; which could, in turn, set forth an aura of inauspicious feng shui, which could be detrimental to most of the occupants staying nearby. One of the feng shui tenets emphasizes that the negative “chi” and inauspicious feng shui could ultimately tarnish the reputation of the occupants staying next to the pond; the degree of the occupants being affected would again depend on their horoscopes. In other words, their stars would be the determining factors of all. Probably; there may be a certain number of individuals who could be affected more than the others.
