All of us are eager to know and understand more about “chi” – which has often been used by genuine feng shui masters or practitioners at all times. Incidentally, what is “chi”?

There are many ways in explaining “chi”. However, this is one of the ways.
“Chi” is a kind of energy that is being accumulated or emitted in the environment, surrounding the human race. This type of energy is invisible to the naked eye; but it could be “seen” with an individual’s “third eye”. This invisible element could also be felt by one’s subconscious mind. And at times, through one’s intuition, one could also “detect” the existence of “chi”.
As the “yin” is contrasted to the “yang”, just like the two contrasting faces of a coin; “chi” too manifests itself in two contrasting versions – the good “chi” as well as the bad “chi”.
Feng shui principles agree that the good “chi” would give rise to auspicious feng shui; and the bad “chi” would, in turn; set forth an aura of inauspicious feng shui. Since the home is an important pillar of one’s well-being and even strength in one’s life; it is necessary to attract positive “chi” so that auspicious feng shui could be drawn into one’s residence. And at the same time, one should take the efforts to drive away negative “chi” so that inauspicious feng shui could be repelled from one’s residence.
Among the many feng shui principles, there is one which states that a person’s home, as far as possible; should not be located in such a way that it faces a T-junction. The lights from the vehicles (at night) at the T-junction would create a nature of disturbances; which feng shui practitioners believe would ultimately accumulate negative forces known as “sah-chi” or the killing forces of “chi”. This would cause the occupants of the home to be vulnerable to injuries or accidents at times.
There is yet another feng shui belief which discourages a home being located directly opposite a rubbish dump. Generally speaking, feng shui practitioners would believe that the dump could emanate “sah-chi” which would attract negative feng shui. Exposure to “sah-chi” for a long period of time could tarnish the occupants’ reputation in the long run.
There are some feng shui masters who would encourage their clients to select houses that are built in such a manner that sun rays could easily penetrate their homes at all times. You see, if a house is extremely gloomy as a result of a lack of sunlight, then “sah-chi” would set in. This kind of “sah-chi” is commonly known as “yin-chi” or the gloomy forces of “chi”. These gloomy forces could create a flow of negative feng shui – causing health problems to the occupants, especially to the female members of the family. The head of the family would find difficulties in earning a living; and the negative feng shui could impede his ability in amassing much wealth as well.
There is yet another feng shui tenet which discourages sharp or pointed items from being displayed in front of one’s home. Feng shui guidelines believe that these objects could create “sah-chi”. This would, in turn; give rise to negative feng shui, which could probably cause the occupants of the house to be inflicted with injuries or harm. These occupants would also encounter a great deal of obstacles that might impede their career advancements as time passes by.
All in all, feng shui consultants would believe that in spite of the existence of bad “chi” around us; the positive version of “chi” does exist in our environment as well, not felt in many situations though.
Many feng shui masters would agree that if the directions of the houses are in accordance with their horoscopes; then they could be blessed with an abundance of auspicious “chi” indeed. Very likely, the positive “chi” could have emerged from the main or front doors of their clients’ homes. The feng shui consultants would normally advise their clients to maintain such positive energy to their residence using various methods.
The arrangement of furniture, putting up of an aquarium or putting up of certain plants at different portion of their houses would invariably help to draw auspicious “chi” to their homes. With the accumulation of the positive “chi”, auspicious feng shui would very likely be emanated or emitted within their houses and their surroundings. With good feng shui around, their clients would inevitably be blessed with good luck, good health, success and prosperity throughout the years to come.
